That year was a very productive one. Alongside my own book, I also received several translation assignments, and I threw myself into them with great enthusiasm. I will not deny that translating a sex guide for women was the most embarrassing of these tasks — but also all the more interesting and humorous as a challenge. It should be added that I received the assignment because the publisher’s female translator was on maternity leave at the time, so I was, in effect, a stand-in. People are still surprised to see my name in a book of this kind, but I am genuinely proud of this work as well. I learned a great deal from it, in every sense.
